[1] The headword is the aorist passive participle, feminine nominative singular, of ἐγχρίπτω (cf. epsilon 186, epsilon 187). It is quoted from Homer, Iliad 5.662; cf. the scholia there, and to 7.272 (where the equivalent masculine occurs).
[2] From a gloss on Herodotus 2.60.2, where in fact the participle ἐγχρίμψαντες occurs.
