Adler number: epsilon,1833
Translated headword: annihilation
Vetting Status: high

[Meaning] complete destruction.[1]

Greek Original:
Ἐξώλεια: πανωλεθρία. καὶ ἐξώλειαν ἑαυτῷ προσεπαρασάμενος, καὶ ὁτιοῦν αὐτῶν ἐκβῇ. τουτέστιν ἀπηγορευμένον κακῶν.
Notes:
[1] The headword is a noun derived from the verb ἐξόλλυμι ; cf. epsilon 1832, epsilon 1834, epsilon 1788.
[2] Bernhardy suggested κἂν or ἐὰν instead of καὶ , to go with the subjunctive ἐκβῇ .
[3] Kuster emended the participle to genitive plural ἀπηγορευμένων , agreeing with κακῶν .
[4] Tentatively attributed by Adler to Aelian. In fact from Cassius Dio; cf. alpha 527. See Favuzzi [cited under alpha 1990] 57.
