"[You] must keep holy silence and stand aside for our choruses" -- ['stand aside'] meaning give way -- "whoever is inexperienced in these speeches or is not pure in intention."[3] And elsewhere: "to give way to the initiated choruses."
Aristophanes [says this].[4]
Concerning giving way, they do not readily pour even vinegary wine sufficiently into the pots.[5]
