Adler number: epsilon,130
Translated headword: concealed, hidden, secret
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[no gloss]
Greek Original:
Ἐγκρυφῆ.
Notes:
Entry in two manuscripts only (IM), Adler reports.
The unglossed headword, otherwise attested only in the 10th century Life of St. Nicephoros of Miletus, would seem to be masculine/feminine accusative singular or neuter nominative/accusative plural of an adjective ἐγκρυφής (not registered by LSJ), a variant of ἔγκρυφος (also very rare).
For the etymology cf. generally kappa 2505, kappa 2507; and note also epsilon 131.
Keywords: Christianity; dialects, grammar, and etymology; religion
