*)enagi/zwn: foneu/wn, katakai/nwn. e)nagi/zousin ou)=n tw=| *canqw=| *makedo/nes kai\ kaqarmo\n poiou=si su\n i(/ppois w(plisme/nois.
Notes:
Similarly in ps.-Zonaras.
[1] Similarly in Hesychius epsilon2586, where one of the glosses of the infinitive e)nagi/zein (epsilon 1092, and cf. generally epsilon 1094) is foneu/ein. The Suda's headword is that verb's present participle, masculine nominative singular. It must be quoted from somewhere (other than the quotation given here, which uses the third person plural indicative). Extant instances are confined to two in Porphyrius, On philosophy from oracles.
[2] Polybius 23.10.17 (web address 1). Valesius [Henri de Valois, 1603-1676] emended *canqw=| to *canqikw=| mhni/ ("in the month Xandikos"; cf. xi 6); *makedo/nes is also his emendation for *makedo/ni or *makedo/na.
