Notes:
cf. generally delta 540. The source of the present entry (also in Photius) is indeterminable.
The diadikasia had multiple functions in Athenian law; it was "the name given to a variety of (contested) claims either to enjoy a privilege or to be exempt from an obligation" (Todd 119). The present entry refers, somewhat clumsily, to one of the best-attested applications of this (Harrison 235-8, MacDowell 163-4, Todd 120-1): the performance, or avoidance, of festival liturgies and the expense they entailed (cf. generally chi 400). It might also involve an antidosis (see under alpha 3629, eta 39), a challenge to exchange property with someone allegedly better-placed to discharge the liturgy.
