Very similar entry in Photius (the glossing participle is a)penqou=ntos rather than penqou=ntos), though in Theodoridis' edition the whole thing is obelized. Hesychius has a longer and more intelligible one (delta708) under the lemma despo/thn kakarme/noi ( = Tragica Adespota fr. 206 Nauck), explaining the phrase by reference to grieving horses being shorn when their masters die.
