Note:
= Synagoge delta392; Photius, Lexicon delta802; cf. Hesychius delta2538. In his edition of Hesychius Latte considers it a Cyrillian addition, and indeed this term is found in Cyril of Alexandria much more frequently than in any other writer. Note, however, that this adjective is similarly glossed in the scholia to Aeschylus, Seven Against Thebes 802, Sophocles, Antigone 95, Aristophanes, Clouds 587, and other passages where the headword occurs. For the headword -- a common enough noun in all periods, here glossed with a similarly common one -- see already alpha 732. (For dus- glossed with kak- in the Suda cf. e.g. delta 1604, delta 1628, delta 1630, delta 1634, and esp. delta 1642).
