[1] = Synagoge delta333 and Photius delta693, except that those lexica offer a third gloss, donh/seis ('whirl'); cf. Apollonius, Homeric Lexicon 59.21, Hesychius delta2080. All these probably derive from commentary on Homer, Odyssey 14.512 (compare the scholia thereto) where the headword appears as second person singular, future, of the verb dnopali/zw (cf. delta 1314). The syntactical reference added here (see n. 2 below) seems to misinterpret the headword as the nominative or accusative plural form of a putative noun derived from this verb dnopa/licis ('shaking'), which is otherwise unattested apart from lexicography subsequent to the Suda, e.g Etymologicum Magnum 281.18, and in commentary to uses of forms of the verb (e.g. scholia to Oppian, Halieutica 2.295). The translation given here for the headword and the glosses (which could likewise be mistaken for deverbative nouns) reflects this misinterpretation.
