[1] Adler reports that one ms (F = Laurentianus 55.1) reads Ἀμαστρίσι for Ἀμαστριανοῖς . Be that as it may, for the Amastrians (of the S. Black Sea coast) see e.g. Strabo 12.3.1-10; Barrington Atlas map 86 grid C2. Their relevance here is because of the public square in Constantinople known as the Amastrianon/Amastrianum.
