[Meaning] one slackening [χαλῶν ] the wits. Or by removal of the chi, in order that it would be, having enough unmixed [ἅλις ἄκρατον ];[1] that is, wine.
Also [sc. attested is] 'in a pure' [something], [meaning in one] not mixed. In the Epigrams: "she lay laden in a pure stream".[2]

Χαλίκρητος ποτός: ὁ χαλῶν τὰς φρένας. ἢ κατὰ στέρησιν τοῦ χ, ἵν' ᾖ, ἅλις ἄκρατον ἔχων: τουτέστιν οἶνον. καὶ Χαλικρήτῳ, μὴ κεκραμένῳ. ἐν Ἐπιγράμμασι: κεῖτο χαλικρήτῳ νάματι βριθομένη.
