Headword: Χαριεργός
Adler number: chi,107
Translated headword: gracefully-working
Vetting Status: high
[Meaning] she who is making things with grace bestowed upon them.
"Retiring from his craft [the man] dedicated these to gracefully-working Athena."[1]
Greek Original:
Χαριεργός: ἡ κεχαριτωμένα ἐργαζομένη. ἃ δὴ χαριεργᾷ Ἀθάνᾳ ἐκ τέχνας θήκατο παυόμενος.
The headword adjective is attested only in this Suda entry and the epigram which has evidently given rise to it, where the dative singular occurs: see next note.
[1] An approximation of Greek Anthology 6.205.9-10: besides omitting 'the man', the Suda presents the dative adjective as χαριεργᾷ , instead of χαριεργῷ .
