But no longer [is this] analogous to h(/misu ["half"], [genitive] h(mi/seos, but [there is] also h(mi/sews.[2]
Greek Original:
*)/astu, a)/steos. ou)ke/ti de\ a)na/logon h(/misu h(mi/seos, a)lla\ kai\ h(mi/sews.
Notes:
[1] Likewise, according to Adler, in the Ambrosian Lexicon.
[2] The point at issue here is whether such nouns decline with omicron or omega, or both, in the genitive. "Half" does both: see LSJ s.v. (web address 1), pointing out that the omega form is largely late (though eta 352 has only the omicron form). "Town", however, always did have both forms, in different dialects.
