Headword: *)apro/sklhton
Adler number: alpha,3699
Translated headword: summons-less
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
The [sc. Athenian lawsuit] which is not the result of a summons.[1]
But a)pro/skliton [means something] passion-less.[2]
Greek Original:
*)apro/sklhton: th\n ou) proskeklhme/nhn. *)apro/skliton de\ to\ a)prospaqe/s.
Notes:
[1] From Harpokration s.v., who cites Hyperides (fr.2 Jensen) for this accusative singular headword.
[2] (Omitted in some mss.) Not in Harpok, but an addendum by someone wishing to avoid confusion between these two almost identical-sounding words. The second, a)pro/sklitos "impartial" (from the verb proskli/nw, "I am inclined towards") is very rare, attested (besides here) only once, in a homily of Asterius of Amasea.
