Notes:
The very rare headword adjective is described in LSJ s.v. as a 'stronger form' of a)/spondos, for which see alpha 4214. This is its masculine/feminine accusative singular, presumably extracted from the quotation given.
[1] George of Pisidia, Heraclias 3 fr. 39 Tartaglia. Tartaglia notes (233, n.92) that in fragments 37-40 the Pisidian is concerned with illustrating the vices of the Persians, evidently to contrast them with the virtues of Heraclius (cf. eta 465) and his men. See related entries at beta 57, epsilon 1367, and pi 2777.
