Metrodorus, cf.
alpha 4656) could be the same general of Philip V that was victorious in
Thasos (cf.
theta 59; Barrington Atlas map 51 grid D3;
Polybius 15.24.2, web address 1) in 202 BCE. This fragment, if genuinely Polybian, then indicates a subsequent political and military schism between the general and the king (Walbank, p. 745).
