Headword: Ἀγάλλων
Adler number: alpha,137
Translated headword: glorying, taking pride
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning one who is] engaging in self-glorification.
Greek Original:
Ἀγάλλων: ἑαυτὸν σεμνοποιῶν.
Note:
Same entry in Photius (Lexicon alpha89 Theodoridis) and elsewhere. The headword is present participle, masculine nominative singular, of ἀγάλλω ; cf. alpha 130 (and alpha 134). It has evidently been extracted from somewhere -- probably from Pindar, Olympians 1.86b (139), which attracted scholiastic comment.
