Greek Original:
Attaleia, Italia de.
Notes:
One of the many Suda entries (in reverse at iota 735) which differentiated between words or names which sounded and/or looked similar.
Attaleia (modern-day Antalya) was a city of Pamphylia in southern Asia Minor founded by Attalus II. Numismatic evidence shows that it claimed kinship with Athens.
There were other Attaleias inland from Pergamum (NW Turkey) and Aitolia (central Greece), but the Pamphylian one was best known.
