Four [women] used to be elected, from those of noble birth, but two were chosen to begin the weaving of the robe[1] and the other things pertaining to it. They used to wear white clothing. If they put on gold ornaments, these became holy.

The more usual form of this verb (and its cognates) is a)rrhforei=n (cf. LSJ [web address 1]). The corrupt form given here a)rrhnofore=in also occurs in some of the manuscripts of Harpokration, but both Dindorf and Keaney adopt the reading a)rrhforei=n.
