Apo: porrô, makran. en tois Ousbais tou kindunou apo egeneto, apodrasas ta xiphê. to apo kai apothen dia tou o mikrou: apôtatô de.
Notes:
[1] Same or similar glossing in other lexica, and in the scholia to Homer, Odyssey 1.75.
[2] Quotation (again at omicron 959) unidentifiable, but evidently from a military narrative. Ousbion, also attested as "Ouebion" by one manuscript, is mentioned by Ptolemy (2.11.15) and was a Germanic settlement on the Danube, across from Arelape (modern-day Pöchlarn, Austria).
[3] Similarly, according to Adler, in two entries in the Ambrosian Lexicon.
Keywords: biography; definition; dialects, grammar, and etymology; epic; geography; historiography; history; military affairs
