Probably from commentary to Aristophanes. The headword appears as the name of a generic character in Birds (1337 ff.), but otherwise occurs as given here, where it is glossed as a nominative singular, at Clouds 911. The same form appears as an accusative plural at Frogs 274.

[2] So too a scholion to Aristophanes, Clouds 1327 (where its vocative singular appears). This variant form appears also in e.g. the New Testament (1 Timothy 1.9).
