of Pieria (Pieria is a city of Macedonia),[1] historian. He wrote History of Pallene, Foundation of Syracuse, Persian History, Sicilian History, Description of Syracuse, and On the Empire of the Macedonians.[2]

[1] For Pieria as a mountain see pi 1564. However, it does merit entry as a polis, with this very ethnikon (otherwise attested only in the plural in Strabo 9.5.22), in Stephanus of Byzantium s.v.
[2] Not even fragments of any of these works survive, and indeed the present entry is the only testimonium pertaining to this Kriton, whom Jacoby dates to the C2 AD (FGrH 277). The homonymous author of a Getica (alpha 4035 etc.), from the same general period, is differentiated (FGrH 200).
