of Gergis, a rhetor and historian, he lived in the time of Hadrian. He went into exile from his native city because of enmity with its rulers, and lived in Sicily. He wrote miscellaneous histories in nine books which he entitled Muses[1] in the Ionian dialect, as well as Rhetorical declamations and certain other works.
