Perhaps ultimately from the scholia to Homer, Iliad 23.466, where the headword (aorist active participle, nominative masculine singular, of e(li/ssw) occurs. Adler cites also, for comparison, Etymologicum Magnum 330.25, the unedited Ambrosian Lexicon (710), and also 'H[esychius]' -- the last presumably meaning his epsilon2120, where e(lixqe/ntwn from Iliad 12.74 is glossed with sustrafe/ntwn; see epsilon 873.
