The headword noun, more probably in the genitive singular than the accusative plural, must be extracted from somewhere -- perhaps the quotation given here, though there are numerous extant alternatives, from Thucydides onwards. The Lexicon in orationes Gregorii Nazianzeni has this same glossing, so the actual source might be that author. (For the accusative singular see epsilon 3462; and cf. epsilon 3463.)
