Notes:
Likewise, indeed, in the Synagoge (tau218) -- to which this is the Suda's only explicit allusion -- and (without such an allusion) Photius, Lexicon tau368 Theodoridis; also the Etymologicum Genuinum and Etymologicum Magnum. The first part of the gloss is in Hesychius tau1100 and a scholion on Homer, Odyssey 4.490, where the verb tolu/peusen occurs. The present headword itself, a neuter noun, is unattested outside lexicography.
cf. generally tau 747, tau 749.
