Translated headword: gathered-together

Translation:
[Meaning] brought-together.[1]
"So once the allies had been gathered together, reviling him they threatened to align themselves with the cause of the opposing side".[2]
Greek Original:
*sunalisqei/shs: sunaxqei/shs. sunalisqe/ntes ou)=n oi( su/mmaxoi, blasfhmou=ntes au)to\n h)pei/loun prosqh/sesqai th=| moi/ra| tw=n u(penanti/wn.
Notes:
The headword is the aorist passive participle, feminine genitive singular, of the verb sunali/zw (see generally verb A in LSJ s.v., and cf. sigma 1432). In classical literature this form is attested only in Josephus, Jewish War 3.7.8(162), from where it is probably quoted. (It is used there of foraged timber.)
[1] The headword and gloss are derived from the Synagoge sigma318 (Cunningham); likewise Photius, Lexicon. sigma735 Theodoridis (Porson 551.14). Hesychius sigma2412 has equivalent glossing for sunalisqe/ntes, the masculine nominative plural participle used in the quotation below.
[2] A quotation from an unidentifiable historical work.
