From the scholia to Aristophanes, Birds 139, where the phrase quoted occurs (web address 1). Modern opinion, too, has been unsure whether this is a made-up name (cognate with the verb sti/lbw: cf. sigma 1110, sigma 1111) or that of a real person, but Dunbar 178-9 argues convincingly for the latter.
Aristophanes, Birds, edited with introduction and commentary by Nan Dunbar (Oxford 1995).
