Adler number: pi,2065
Translated headword: most advantageous, very advantageous
Vetting Status: high
Translation:

Greek Original:
*porimw/tatos. tau/thn e)/docen ei)=nai porimwta/thn e)pibolh/n. a)nti\ tou= e)pikerdh=. kai\ *pori/sontai, a)nti\ tou= kerdh/sousi.
Notes:
The unglossed headword is the superlative form of the adjective po/rimos (for which cf. pi 2064), here in the (presumably paradigmatic) masculine nominative singular.
[1] Quotation (transmitted, in Adler's view, via the Excerpta Constantini Porphyrogeniti) unidentifiable. It contains the feminine singular accusative form of the headword.
[2] A verb, pori/zw, related to the headword (cf. pi 2063). This form of it (third person plural, future indicative middle, post-classical form) is also, already, in Hesychius pi3037, glossed there with peripoih/sontai "they will acquire". Otherwise it is only attested twice prior to the Suda: John Chrysostom, To the People of Antioch PG 49.52.33, and Procopius, Secret History 24.11; and only the first of these predates Hesychius.
