[1] The primary headword is present active participle, feminine nominative singular, of Attic pe/ttw (Ionic/koine pe/ssw); cf. pi 1383. (The verb is cognate with Latin coquō.) It must be quoted from somewhere -- perhaps Eubulus frs. 1-2 Kock (now combined as fr. 1 K.-A.), quoted by Athenaeus.
[2] Third person plural, present active, of the same verb. (Again, evidently quoted from somewhere -- perhaps Aristophanes, Ecclesiazusae 223b.) The material up to this point is paralleled in other lexica but with the two elements in reverse; see the references at Photius pi827 Theodoridis.
