Headword: *)/oknos xalkou=s
Adler number: omicron,115
Translated headword: bronze oknos
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
This purports to be a kind of seat for women [used] peculiarly to the Bithynians.
Greek Original:
*)/oknos xalkou=s: bou/letai tou=to toi=s *biqunoi=s e)pixwri/ws di/frou tino\s gunaikei/ou ei)=dos ei)=nai.
Notes:
Attested only here. Adler initially suggested Symeon Metaphrastes as a possible source, but in her consolidated addenda and corrigenda offered the alternative of FGrH 151.
The noun in the phrase is otherwise unattested in this sense, and since ms V places the entry after omicron 131 (while mss AF omit it altogether) its spelling was apparently unclear.
