Headword: *numfostolh=sai
Adler number: nu,599
Translated headword: to be a bride-escort
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning] to arrange/prepare a bride.
Greek Original:
*numfostolh=sai: nu/mfhn kosmh=sai.
Notes:
Same entry, according to Adler, in the Ambrosian Lexicon (381). The headword is aorist infinitive of numfostole/w, presumably extracted from somewhere.
LSJ s.v. notes that the verb can apply to escorting a 'bride or bridegroom'. The glossing of the present instance obviously indicates that it is an instance of the former.
