Headword: *mousomani/a
Adler number: mu,1300
Translated headword: Muse-devotion, Muse-madness
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
"[...] the things that had been parodied and the Muse-devotion surrounding them was reaching the stars."[1]
Greek Original:
*mousomani/a: ta\ de\ parw|dhme/na kai\ h( peri\ tau=ta mousomani/a tw=n a)/strwn a)pe/yaue.
Notes:
Tiberius Hemsterhuys attributed this quotation (which includes the headword) to Eunapius; cf. in any event pi 715 with n.6 there. The only other attestation of the headword is in Plutarch, Quaestiones Conviviales 706C (in the dative plural).
[1] The final verb here, a)pe/yaue (otherwise unattested), is likely to be a false reading for e)pe/yaue as at pi 715.
