Notes:
Aristophanes, Birds 764-5, also quoted, but less accurately, at phi 135 and phi 869. There are multiple puns here involving birds (on which see Dunbar (below) 472-3) but the underlying point is that severe Athenian citizenship qualifications will not apply in Cloudcuckootown.
