The unglossed headword is the Attic aorist active infinitive of kerdai/nw. (The form may have been glossed because it was displaced in later Greek by a newer form of the sigmatic aorist, kerdh=sai.) Extant instances are numerous; the one that lies behind this entry is perhaps the earliest -- Euripides, Hecuba 518 (web address 1), which generated several scholia.
