[1] = Synagoge epsilon887; Photius, Lexicon epsilon2067. Both headword and gloss are aorist active participles in the nominative singular masculine (middle for the former and active for the latter, although the latter usually occurs in the middle in this sense). The headword e(tairisa/menos is presumably quoted from somewhere; perhaps from Procopius (via the Excerpta of Constantine Porphyrogenitus), who uses the word more frequently than others (e.g. History of the Wars of Justinian 1.25.7, 2.18.16, etc.). Compare generally Hesychius epsilon6484.
[2] = Synagoge epsilon888; Photius, Lexicon epsilon2069. The word defined here would appear to be the corresponding active form of the headword (unattested elsewhere), but is probably an error for e(tairh/sas (homophonous in late Greek), which actually appears in some Suda mss as well as in ms B of the Synagoge and in Hesychius epsilon6484. This form, from e(taire/w (epsilon 3275) rather than a putative e(tairi/zw, appears in a scholium to Aeschines 1.2, in reference to Timarchos, who was accused of prostituting himself in his youth. Both the lemma and the participle used to gloss it are masculine in gender. Compare generally Hesychius6482.
[3] Here one accusative plural feminine noun (derived from the verb of the headword) is glossed with another one. Perhaps quoted (via the Excerpta) from Cassius Dio 45.26.2, where one of only two other attestations of this form is found. (The other is Plutarch, Moralia 1086E.) Adler cites the lexicon of Codex Laurentianus 59.16 as a comparandum.
