Translation:
[Meaning] I was awakening.[1]
Aristophanes [writes]: "and then I woke up."[2] In reference to those being deceived. For when Dionysus has proclaimed that he destroyed 13 enemy ships in the sea-battle,[3] Herakles[4] adds, "and then I woke up!" Mocking Dionysus, he is saying, "and I rose up from my dreams;" making clear that a vision in sleep brought about these things. [This comes] from those who are speaking falsehoods intentionally, as it is made clear that what is said resembles a thing seen in sleep.
