*)ecaya/menos: katasxw/n, periplakei/s.
Note:
Aorist middle participle, masculine nominative singular, of the verb e)ca/ptw (which has a range of literal and figurative meanings: see LSJ s.v.). See also epsilon 1553, epsilon 1732, epsilon 1733, epsilon 1742). Same glossing in other lexica; evidently quoted from somewhere. Of the several extant possibilities, the likeliest one is Demosthenes 25.90. (Theodoridis on Photius s.v. claims that the sense of it there does not fit these glosses, but it is hard to see why.)
Keywords: definition; dialects, grammar, and etymology; imagery; rhetoric
