As to the quotation itself, in the accusative plural, Adler suggested Nicolaus of Damascus (nu 393), and this is taken up and confirmed by Favuzzi [below] in his study of eleven Suda entries -- cf. delta 1591, epsilon 935, epsilon 1539, epsilon 3022, theta 274, theta 412, kappa 2029, pi 1697, pi 2069, pi 2678 -- which all in his view relate to Heracles and all come from Nicolaus.
