Headword: Ἀνατολίη
Adler number: alpha,2106
Translated headword: east, rising, growing
Vetting Status: high
[The same as] ἀνατολή .[1] It is also said ἀντολίη .[2]
Greek Original:
Ἀνατολίη: ἡ ἀνατολή. λέγεται δὲ καὶ ἀντολίη.
[1] Hesychius has a corresponding entry for the accusative case ἀνατολίην , presumably quoted from somewhere (but not from epic, for which the form is metrically unsuited). For ἀνατολή see generally LSJ s.v. The form ἀντολή occurs in Homer, Odyssey 12.4 (web address 1), and Euripides, Phoenician Women 504 (web address 2).
[2] cf. alpha 2752.
