[1] Accusative case; evidently quoted from somewhere (perhaps, though not necessarily, the quotation which follows).
[2] Istros, FGrH 334 F23b, quoted by Eustathius, Commentary on the Odyssey 1.339. (On Istros/Ister, a Ptolemaic grammarian of the C3 BC, see generally Der Kleine Pauly 4,1278; OCD(4) p.749.) Adler would have done better to print the accusative case mosxi/wna, the reading of mss. GIT; and 'the first' is also likely to be a corruption.
