One of the kings in Thrace.
Greek Original:
Seuthês: heis tôn en Thraikêi basileôn.
Notes:
Abridged from Harpokration (and Photius) s.v., commenting on Lysias fr. 120 Sauppe (now 162 Carey OCT).
Two dynasts of the Odrysian kingdom of Thrace with this name are attested: Seuthes I (who succeeded his uncle Sitalkes in 424/3 and ruled until some time between 410 and 407) and the pretender Seuthes II, best-known for being the father of Kotys (kappa 2173). It is unclear to which of them Lysias was referring.
