Notes:
[1] See again below; and cf. Etymologicum Magnum 701.9 (Adler wrongly has '700.9').
[2] Greek Anthology 6.35.3 (Leonidas of Tarentum), a rustic dedication to Pan; cf. Gow and Page (1965), vol. I (122) and vol. II (356-357); cf. further extracts from this epigram at alpha 325, alpha 350, alphaiota 210, gamma 73, lambda 189, and tau 264. Gow and Page (1965) note (vol. II, 356) that the adjective r(aibo/kranon (crooked-headed) associated with the headword is found only here in the Epigrams. Also, the noun e)u+sto/rqugc (slender branch, twig, cf. LSJ s.v., web address 1), invoked in this epigram with an attributive sense as an accusative of respect, is attested only here and in another epigram, Greek Anthology 6.232; there it is applied to Priapus, perhaps as Gow and Page suggest (ibid.), with an obscene connotation.
[3] Greek Anthology 6.196.1 (Flaccus), the dedication of a crab to Pan; cf. Gow and Page (1968), vol. I (422-423) and vol. II (452); cf. another extract at omicron 456.
