Selected to Participate in the 2018 ARL Symposium

Dr. Baker has been selected to participate in the 2018 Academic Research and Leadership (ARL) Symposium hosted at the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) National Convention in Pittsburgh, PA on 3/23 – 3/24.

 

Details – This symposium will provide a unique opportunity to bring together minority engineers who are involved in or preparing for careers in academia and industrial research to network and to hear from other successful colleagues from around the country. The faculty development thread hosts workshops organized by members of the ARLS network that strengthen and demystify fundamental components of academia. Example topics include: Obtaining a Faculty Position, The Ins and Outs of the Tenure Process, How to Write a Successful CAREER Proposal, How to Successfully Manage a Research Group, Strategies for Diversifying your Research Funding Portfolio.

Corey E. Baker is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Kentucky. His research interests are in the area of Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) with emphasis in: opportunistic wireless communication for the Internet of Things (IoT), smart cities, smart homes, and mobile health environments.
