Jinze Liu - NSF Career Award

NSFIt is researchers like Dr. Jinze Liu that are propelling UK towards its goal of being a top 20 research university. Liu has been an assistant professor in the department of Computer Science since 2007.  The National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded Dr. Liu a prestigious CAREER grant for her research project Algorithms and Applications for Next Generation High-Throughput Sequencing Technologies.  The five-year project has a budget of $500,000, and combines educational and research objectives.  This is Dr. Liu’s second NSF grant; she is also the Principal Investigator on a $1M collaboration with researchers in the Gluck Equine Research Center titled “ARRA-Exon Splice Pattern Characterization of the Whole mRNA Transcriptome”.
