Here the primary headword, a nominative singular, relates to Malis (as e.g. in Herodotus 7.213-214 on the Persian-War traitor Ephialtes); the secondary one, a nominative plural, to the island of Melos (as e.g. in Thucydides 5.84-116, and see also under lambda 557).
