[1] The headword (which must be quoted from somewhere) purports to be present active participle, masculine nominative singular, of the verb deimato/w, glossed with the corresponding participle of fobe/w; in Photius and Hesychius, however, both words are genitive plurals of nouns; and deima/twn is much more common than deimatw=n.
