Son of Mousaios; from Sidon;[1] a Stoic philosopher, student of Diodoros who was called Kronos.[2] He was himself a teacher of Zeno from Kition.[3] He wrote a Defence-speech for Socrates[4] and Sidonian Matters.

[3] zeta 79. The claim is chronologically impossible, prima facie, as Zeno of Sidon (Epicurean, not Stoic) lived c.150-70 BCE; see web address 1. The solution has been to distinguish between two men of this name, an earlier Stoic and a later Epicurean: see OCD(4) p.1588, under Zeno(5) and Zeno(6).
