Notes:
The headword -- also in
Photius and elsewhere; cf. n. 2 below -- is present indicative active, third person singular, of
sugkrote/w. Evidently quoted from somewhere; there are numerous possibilities.
[1] cf.
Syntacticum Gudianum. In fact the headword verb normally takes the accusative, but LSJ s.v. cites a dative usage from the
Septuagint (
Numbers 24.10:
sunekro/thsen tai=s xersi/n).
[2] This first set of substantive glosses is also in
Photius (sigma675 Theodoridis) and other lexica.
[3] A close approximation of
Agathias,
Histories 2.1 (p. 40 line 2), which has
cunekrotou=nto instead of
sunekrotou=nto. It is the lexicographer who adds the explanatory phrase 'by Narses'. See also more fully at
pi 3225.
