From iota 545. Herodotus 6.114 (web address 1) simply reports the death of Kallimachos, the Athenian polemarch, at the Battle of Marathon (490 BCE: mu 177) without comment, and later versions which purport to know the precise manner of his death are almost sure to be fictitious.
